According to statistics of population, 47 per cent of worlds populations live in cities and the figure is rising steadily. There are both advantages and disadvantages of living in a city.
On the positive side of living in a city is that we have Work and Jobs, good Schools and good range of Leisure and Entertainment facilities. It is often easier to find jobs though in country the level of unemployment is very high and new work places are not created. Furthermore, in n a city you live near medical services. These include health centers, hospitals and pharmacies. Most people can reach a doctor in less than 15 minutes and in case of emergency, you can rely doctors 24 hours per day. What is more, there are a lot of interesting things to do and places to see. For example, you can visit museums; go to the clubs, theatres and concerts. In addition in the cities there are a lot of schools and universities, so yo ou can choose one of them and get a better education. That is why so many young people are moving to the cities.
However, for every advantage there is a disadvantage. For one thing, you might have a job, but un
Another disadvantage of living in a city is that cities are noisy from transport and factories. Public transport is usually crowded and dirty, particularly in rush hour. Of course there is a bigger crime rate than in the countries. The older people get tired of the city. They prefer calm life to all entertainment facilities and choose country life to city.
On the whole, I think these advantages of living in a city outweigh the disadvantages and because of them more people will continue to move to o cities. In conclusion, I think that city life can be particularly appealing to many young people, who like the excitement of the city and do not mind the noise and pollution. However, many people, when they get older, and particularly when they have young children, often prefer the peace and fresh air of the countryside.
